I think that Starbound is a good enough game that putting out a demo would only help sales even more and it wouldn't hurt them because it really is a good game. So without a demo they resort to the only other thing possible to try before buying and I think it's a shame they even feel the need to do that. But these are the same people that were tired of being shafted on some other early access games that never followed through to completition and or have gotten feeling so burned on other game purchases that were hyped up only to turn out like ♥♥♥♥.

In any event, I do know of people that download the pirated copies (free and clear of viruses) and this in turn led them to purchase the game as they got to try it before buying it. Personally, I can't understand trying to take advantage of anybody, EA, or small developer or an individual, seems a contradiction when somebody says such stuff. I can understand screwing over EA, but screwing over a small developer who is actually working really hard is really low.
